General Information

Thank you choosing Signature Badges. At Signature, we have instituted a quality process in support of both production and customer service. We appreciate your comments on how we can improve any and all aspects of our products and services.

Ordering

Please submit all orders for custom badges on our Signature Badges Order Form. It is imperative that all information be clearly written or typed to ensure badges are manufactured properly. PLEASE CHECK ALL INFORMATION ON FORM BEFORE SUBMISSION. Orders received in which information is incomplete will not be entered into production until all missing information is obtained.

Canceling or Changing Orders

Signature will do everything possible to accommodate written requests for changes to or cancellation of orders already received. However, due to the nature of our business in which product is customized and delivery is critical, Signature reserves the right to charge the full price for any badge order that cannot be changed or cancelled.

Dies for Custom Badges

Signature Badges is constantly increasing its availability of custom badge styles for use by all of our customers. We have also designed and/or created numerous badge dies specifically customized for a customer (department, organization, etc.) We would be pleased to discuss the production of a specifically designed badge die for your department or customer. A quote for the cost of the dies and tooling will be provided upon request and only upon written receipt of the acceptance of such quote will have die(s) and tooling be manufactured. We will provide a sample “impression” or a sample blank for approval prior to the production of any items ordered. Actual production of badges will not commence until payment of dies and tooling has been received.

Detailed artwork is required prior to production of any and all dies and tooling. Signature can assist you and/or your customer in this matter.

Custom Center Seal Dies

A new customized center seal die can be made free of charge when accompanied by an order for 25 or more badges using the same customized center seal. For orders of less than 25 badges, there will be a die charge. Please see preceding section for terms.

Quotations

 We would be pleased to provide quotations upon written request. Signature will make all efforts to honor written quotations for a period not to exceed 60 days. However, Signature reserves the right to adjust its quotations due to changes in costs, circumstances, etc., unless specifically discussed and agreed to in writing.

Style Designations

Signature Badges custom styles are grouped and designated as follows:

1000 Series – Eagle-Top Badge Styles

1900 Series – Eagle-Top Badge Styles with add-on panels

2000 Series – Oval Badge Styles

2900 Series – Oval Badge Styles with add-on panels

3000 Series – Badge Styles without Eagle-Tops (excluding Oval Badge Styles)

4000 Series – Badge Styles Traditionally Used Principally by Fire and Emergency Services

5000 Series – Five-Point Star Badge Styles

6000 Series – Six-Point Star Badge Styles

7000 Series – Seven-Point Star Badge Styles

Lettering and Filling

All engraving is available in either “Block” or “Roman” style lettering. Badge lettering can be filled using either a soft enamel or hard enamel. Please be sure to designate your choices on the Order Form.

Dapping (Shaping)

Your custom badges will be dapped (shaped) based on the selection made on the Order Form. For you information;

“Flat” – no dap/curvature added to the badge. Generally the selection for “wallet” badges.

“Regular” – the curvature applied based on the tradition for style of the badge. For example, a “side-to-side” or “ball” dap/curvature. In general terms, a “side-to-side” dap/curvature results in a U-shape in the badge when laid on its front surface (commonly used on tear-drop and eagle-top styles), while a “ball” dap/curvature results in a circle shape in the badge when laid on its front surface (commonly used on round-shaped badges and star badges). Please be sure to designate your choice on the Order Form.

Finishes

Below is a brief description of the finishes available for your Signature custom badge:

Nickel Plate is a hot application nickel solution adhered to the base metal of the custom badge by an electromagnetic process. Nickel-plated badges have a silver/gray color tone.

Rhodium Plate is a precious metal that is silver in color and applied to the custom badge by an electromagnetic process over a nickel base. It is bright silver in color.

Gold Plate is also a precious metal electromagnetic application over a nickel base. Gold plated badges are bright gold in color.

Two-Tone is a combination of gold and rhodium plating applied to the panels and background of the badge.

Signature Gold – Badges with this finish are given a heavier gold plating application to ensure the durability of the badge.

Raised Letter Panels

Many of our badge styles are available with Raised Letter Panels. These styles are designated with an “R” at the end of the style number. We have a large selection of “standard” raised letter panels. In addition, we can provide customized raised letter panels for your department and/or customer.

A copy of our most current Retail Price List for custom badges and accessories can be obtained by contacting us at info@signaturebadges.com. Our wholesale pricing structure for Dealers is extremely competitive. We will be pleased to discuss our wholesale pricing structure with new dealers.

Quantity Discounts

Quantity discounts are available for all orders in which all components of the manufacture of the custom badge are exactly the same except for engraved lettering. Signature is pleased to provide the following price discounts for order quantity:

Shipments

All orders are shipped F.O.B. Shipping Point: Nanuet, New York, unless expressly agreed to in writing. We will be pleased to drop ship; however, Signature cannot be held responsible for delivery on drop shipments.

Guarantee

Products that are manufactured with errors or defects at the responsibility of Signature will be fixed or re-made free of charge. Decisions as to whether such products are repaired or re-made rest solely with Signature. Requests for correction must be submitted to Signature within 30 (thirty) days from the date of original shipment.

Repairs

We will be happy to repair your badges for you or your customer after first reviewing the badges to be sure adequate repair can be made. Price quotes for repairs shall be provided after inspection.
